Nestled in the North York Moors, Yorkshire Spa Retreat offers a luxurious lodge, spa, wellbeing and dining getaway experience, with plans to develop the site further.
The vision for the facility was to set exceptional standards at all levels. In an increasingly connected world, this naturally extends to internet connectivity.
We delivered a fibre optic and Wi-Fi IT solution that equipped the entire park with seamless high-speed connectivity covering the lodges, dining areas, spa, changing facilities and offices.
With a 1Gbps internet experience for both guests and employees, the solution we provided is as secure and dependable as it is phenomenal and exceptional, providing users with unrivalled ‘home-from-home’ leisure connectivity, wherever they roam on site.
The challenge
As a brand-new leisure park with no pre-existing IT infrastructure whatsoever and a rather remote location, Yorkshire Spa Retreat was a completely blank canvas; a project that required strategic, innovative thinking.
They wanted to provide their guests with a seamless internet and Wi-Fi connectivity experience. No clunky portals, snail’s-pace speeds, connectivity blackspots or drop offs at peak times.
Safe, secure and speedy connectivity for guests and staff — ‘home-from-home’ connectivity, in other words.
Support was required for 20 lodges (with future plans to add more) and dining areas, spas, outdoor pool and other leisure facilities.
The project was also to be a phased construction with site development earmarked to take place over several years, so Yorkshire Spa Retreat needed the right foundations in place to be able to grow at speed, whenever required.
Our solution
We implemented full fibre optic site infrastructure, delivering high-speed connectivity throughout the park. This includes all ancillary buildings and lodges, each with its own dedicated and secure private network, with the capacity to exceed the number of lodges initially planned.
With complete roaming on dedicated smart Wi-Fi personal networks, guests can access the internet seamlessly and securely across the entire park.
We also developed a secure office network for staff and an electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) system to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
All of this leading tech is supported by our entire team on an ongoing, fully-managed basis, allowing Yorkshire Spa Retreat to focus on what really matters: their guests.
The results
With access to 1Gbps speeds, guests can sign in easily with QR code registration and roam across the park with a private, secure network. This is backed up by failover and backup resilience, delivering constant connectivity.

With expansion plans in the pipeline, our IT solution is fully flexible, able to adapt to meet higher demands as and when the park grows.
